Round vs. Rectangular Tables for Backyard Parties

Round tables

Our go-to for celebrations. A 60" round seats eight and lets everyone see and talk to one another — ideal for graduations, showers, and family parties. Rounds feel social and fill a tent gracefully.

Rectangular tables

Better for tight spaces, long buffet lines, and a more banquet-style look. They pack more seats into a narrow footprint and are easy to line end-to-end for family-style dining.

How to choose

  • Mingling and conversation: rounds
  • Maximum seats in a small yard: rectangles
  • Food, gifts, and displays: rectangles (every time)
Most of our backyard parties use rounds for guests and rectangles for the food and gift line — the best of both.

Our recommendation

For graduation and backyard parties, 60" rounds for seating plus a couple of rectangular buffet tables is the layout that just works.
